digital glyph installation
Experimental large scale 1 digit 16 segments display, remote controlled and programmed to display glyphs made out of fairy light segments, creating a mono-spaced font. The light display is controlled and programmed through an Arduino board linked to the 16 segments controller board. This project is a bridge between physical computing, electronic, analogue and digital design. Because of the nature and format of the light display, the generated glyphs are of random size and scale, building rhythm into the composed text. The created typeface was used to compose a poster closely linking signifier and signified.
